The General Data Corporation keeps machines synchronized with the physical world through one API. We give embodied systems access to what exists now, including places beyond their immediate field of view, so they can navigate, map, and act with current context.
In Paris, we operate a continuously refreshed street-level capture network that collects 500,000 frames a day and covers 90% of the city. Powered by a network of people moving through its streets every day, the system closes the gap between what a machine remembers and what exists now. This is how we solve the spatio-temporal context decay problem in robotics.
The result is a continuously updated spatial memory of the real world that machines can query as easily as software uses the web. At street level. With privacy by default.
